Congratulations to Springbrook High School’s Athletic Trainer of the Year Lauren McMillon! Lauren earned this inaugural award for her dedication to the students at SHS. Lauren’s door is always open to help whomever stops in, and she goes above and beyond for the needs of the students. Says MCPS Health and Safety Coordinator Travis McCormack, ““Lauren McMillon defines what it means to be an athletic trainer here in MCPS. She goes far beyond the standard game-day coverage, acting as an athletics program leader, a community pillar, and an fierce advocate for student-athlete safety at Springbrook High School and within our sports medicine program. Her unique blend of professional expertise, selfless community drive, and genuine care makes her profoundly deserving of the Athletic Trainer of the Year Award.” Lauren received a standing ovation from students and coaches at Springbrook’s end of the year sports banquet, where she was surprised with the award. Says Lauren, “I am beyond grateful to receive the inaugural MCPS Athletic Trainer of the Year award. It has been my honor to serve the Springbrook community, and I look forward for many more years to come.”
