A Season of Championship Moments

The fall sports season is heating up in Montgomery County as student-athletes compete for county, regional, and state titles. From the cheer mats to the gridiron, MCPS programs are gearing up for an exciting stretch of championship competition.

Cheerleading
The county championships will feature divisions I through III, leading into state semifinal and final competitions at a regional venue.

Cross Country
Runners from across the county will compete for top honors at the county championships, with regional and state finals challenging Maryland’s best distance runners.

Field Hockey
Teams will battle for the county title before advancing to regional and state competition, where the state finals will crown champions across classifications.

Football
The postseason features region rounds leading to state finals at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, where champions in all classifications will be decided.

Girls’ Flag Football
Following a strong debut season, the postseason includes regional quarterfinals and state semifinals and finals, with top teams competing at a professional venue.

Golf
County golfers will vie for the championship before advancing to district and state competitions, culminating at the University of Maryland Golf Course.

Soccer
The county championships set the stage for regional and state playoffs, concluding with state finals at a top Maryland athletic complex.

Girls’ Volleyball
County champions move on to state-level play, where the season concludes with a final showdown at a premier venue.

Pickleball
Divisional tournaments lead to a county championship, highlighting MCPS’s newest competitive sport.
